Responsibilities:

The incumbent will provide administrative assistance and technical support of the general and daily operations of the Central Plant Operations (power plant with central station refrigeration or air conditioning equipment of 1000 tons or more and heating and processing boilers of 1500 horsepower and above).  Specific duties include: acting as chief operating engineer with responsibility for safe, constant and efficient operation of a Central Plant Boiler; providing guidance and training to first grade stationary engineers as assigned shift; coordinating inspection, repairing and maintaining activities for both emergency and non-emergency conditions; responding to abnormal situations such as switching pumps and boilers; serving as liaison with contractors; operating and maintaining central station type reciprocating, centrifugal, or absorption air conditioning and refrigeration equipment with single compressor and chiller units in excess of 500 tons; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

 High School Diploma/GED

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of a boiler room facility which includes at least three (3) years of experience with boilers over 500 horsepower and chillers in excess of 500 tons and includes four (4) years in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Must possess a valid Non-commercial Class C or equivalent Maryland driver's license

1st Grade Engineers License and Universal CFC license are required
