Responsibilities:

The Program Specialist plays a valuable role in the recruitment and programmatic efforts of the university and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation.
Directly supporting the Assistant Director of Campus Visits and Events and the Assistant Director of Orientation, the Program Specialist facilitates the planning, implementation, and logistics of over 60 admissions, scholarship, and orientation events per year – the majority of which occur in the Spring semester to yield the freshman and transfer class. Specific duties include: arranging over 100 catering
orders and set-ups for the entire Office of Enrollment Management; assisting with booking event spaces; creating room layouts; ordering supplies and audiovisual equipment; working directly with the public; maintaining and managing the PeopleSoft Events and Orientation registration databases for a total of 14,000 prospective and new students, family members, and guests; developing and sharing communications with these students and guests; producing statistical reports for events assessment and evaluation; working with faculty to arrange class visits for scholars students; preparing name tags, materials, giveaways, registration lists, etc.; advising the 50-person Student Ambassador team; supervising two student program assistants; managing staff events and meetings; providing back up to both Assistant
Directors; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree.  One year of related admissions or events experience preferred.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  A valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Database management and mail merge experience desired.
