Department Office of Undergraduate Admissions

The Associate Director of Recruitment, Events, and Orientation serves as a senior management member of the Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation staff and, in conjunction with the Assistant Vice Provost, oversees the office’s recruitment, and yield programs for freshmen, as well as, assists in coordinating the New Student Orientation program. There are three direct and six indirect reports to this position. Specific duties include: assisting in the development and implementation of a communications strategy for recruiting over 100,000 prospective freshmen; serving as the “in-house expert” for publications and communications; working closely with staff in Institutional Advancement to support the university’s overall marketing campaign; high-level management of more than 30 admissions programs throughout the year that range in size from 200 guests to over 2,000 guests; providing additional oversight to the Undergraduate Admissions public reception area, which manages  walk-in traffic,  emails, and phone calls for over 10,000 guests annually; playing an integral role in the planning and delivery of the New Student Orientation program for all newly admitted students - over 3,400 students, plus family members and attending this program each year; visiting high schools, conducts presentations and information sessions; attending college fairs;  reviewing freshman and transfer applications and rendering appropriate admission decisions; applying university policies and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) and three years (five preferred) of progressive experience in admissions or related field.  Must have strong supervisory, statistical and analytical skills.



Preferred Qualifications:  PeopleSoft experience a plus.
