Responsibilities:

The Coordinator for Leadership position provides support for the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life specifically focused on leadership development for all UMBC students. Specific duties include: develop and facilitate skills-building workshops, retreats, and recognition programs for student leaders; advise UMBC’s chapter of the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society; serve as support for UMBC's Foundations of Leadership course (EDUC 216/PSYC 216); supervise a leadership intern, and develop ongoing mentoring and peer support programs for student leaders; provide support and advising to student government association; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Leadership or a comparable field. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Minimum one year experience working with college students in a leadership capacity
  • Minimum one year experience in leadership education, training or program development in higher education
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Comfort with high-paced, dynamic work environment and a strong team player mentality
