Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director for Event Advising and Scheduling oversees the day-to-day operations of Event & Conference Services advising and scheduling functions. These duties include supervision of event advisors, facilitating weekly meetings with the Events Team to review events and problem-solve issues, and preparing and reviewing weekly reports for effectiveness and efficiency. This position serves as the main point of contact for customer service related to campus events for high-level clients. The Assistant Director is responsible for solving issues related to non-academic space at UMBC, to include technology systems, posting policies, contracts, and more. The incumbent will also focus on bringing in revenue through conference programs and external vendors and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a student services or business related field.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master's Degree is preferred in Higher Education, Hospitality Management, Business or related field.
  • At lease two years progressive responsibility in student union management, event management or hospitality management, to include supervision of staff.
  • Experience in high-level customer service.
