The incumbent will have primary responsibility for interfacing with EduCo, the international recruitment agency that will be operating worldwide to identify well-qualified candidates for UMBC’s degree programs. Other activities will include participating in retention efforts on behalf of UMBC's international student population and performing other duties as assigned. This position will require some evening phone calls due to the need for conference calls with individuals in different time zones. Attendance at some weekend events, as well as international travel, will be required


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Five to seven years of experience working with international students and a familiarity with both international admissions processes and international student needs are strongly preferred
  • The ability to speak a second language (especially in one of the targeted regions of the world)
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft SA
  • The demonstrated ability to both handle large volumes of data and synthesize information quickly are preferred
  • Experience in higher education 
  • Familiarity with international admissions processes
