 The Marketing Department within the Division of Professional Studies partners with academic departments and support units across campus to promote undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs within the Division along with special sessions, academic initiatives, and new program development on campus.

Responsibilities:

 

The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the on-campus marketing team in elevating and marketing new and existing programs administered by UMBC/DPS at The Universities at Shady Grove. As an onsite liaison at Shady Grove, the coordinator's duties will include: executing marketing plans; managing projects; developing internal and external communications; deploying marketing strategies and digital campaigns; assisting with graphic design; copywriting; reviewing and maintaining website; processing direct mail; evaluating and assessing marketing efforts; planning events; representing and marketing promotions as needed; and performing other duties as assigned.  This position will also be a primary point of contact for business/sponsorship opportunities in Montgomery County responsible for identifying and establishing county partnerships and keeping a pulse on activities within the region.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Communications, Media and Communications, English, or related field and at least one year of related experience. Project management expertise desired.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Three years of marketing experience
  • Higher education experience
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Basecamp and Trello
  • Knowledge of data analysis for marketing and/or higher education
  • Experience with website analytics and data tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Tableau
  • HTML and basic web development experience
