| The incumbent will maintain care and treatment of animals according to standard operating procedures and to ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations. Specific duties include: daily health checks, treatments, sample collections, breeding and cage changes; updating room logs; Animal medical procedures as directed by the veterinary staff, ensuring cleanliness of mice/rat facilities; assisting in the cage wash rooms - dumping and/or filling cages - as needed and performing other duties as assigned. The incumbent will provide technical support for studies including animal handling and restraint, weaning, timed mating, tail snips, ear tagging, injections blood/tissue collections, surgical preparations, and post-operative observations etc. |
