Day-to-Day Operations
The Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training on best program practices for SI PASS and directly supervising 25-30 SI PASS undergraduate peer leaders, 2-3 undergraduate mentors, and 1-2 graduate assistants each semester, ensuring the professional operation of this high-volume supplemental study session program.
Working collaboratively with the AVPAD, the Coordinator will exercise fiduciary responsibility over as assigned budget to ensure the operations of the SI PASS Program.
Working collaboratively with Academic Department Chairs and faculty who teach the eligible SI PASS courses, the Coordinator will identify qualified peer leaders, introduce the program to students in the courses, and facilitate the peer leaders’ access to Blackboard and the class.
The Coordinator must develop partnerships across the campus community (e.g., Academic Advising Community, the Faculty Development Center, and other academic/administrative units) to disseminate information about and promote the SI PASS Program as a contributor to student success.
Working collaboratively with the Registrar’s Office, Scheduling Coordinators and others, the Coordinator will be responsible for identifying, securing, scheduling and maintaining rooms each semester to hold Peer Assisted-Study Sessions in designated spaces and classrooms. This effort also includes the use of current technology to host virtual SI PASS sessions.
The Coordinator will ensure that SI PASS schedules are accurately posted in a timely manner to the ASC website and disseminated to the appropriate campus stakeholders to promote with students.
The Coordinator will be responsible for accurate logging of students attending SI PASS, overseeing the study session activities, ensuring the program is adequately staffed, training, observing and evaluating SI PASS student leaders and giving performance feedback, approving payroll, and following up on student needs and issues.
Reporting and Program Assessment and Accreditation
Working collaboratively with the Assistant Vice Provost, Academic Success Center, the Coordinator will be responsible for routine assessment and reporting of the SI PASS program, including tracking data related to student participation, student and SI PASS Leader feedback, and student and SI PASS Leader achievement of ASC learning outcomes, and analyzing REX reports to make decisions about program improvement.
The Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the SI PASS program maintains accreditation by the International Center on Supplemental Instruction.
The Coordinator must stay abreast of trends in the field of SI PASS and ensure compliance of the program according to the standards set forth by the International Center on Supplemental Instruction as well as the International College Learning Center Association.
Marketing and Communications
The Coordinator must work collaboratively with the Coordinator, ASC Operations and Guest Experience, to appropriately market the SI PASS Program to faculty, staff and students to promote awareness and understanding of the SI PASS program.
