Position Overview:

As the Chief of Staff for the Office of the Provost, this position will execute significant strategic, operational and cultural agendas calling for considerable change on behalf of the Provost. The Chief of Staff will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the agenda of the Provost is executed, which includes but is not limited to time management, communications, and acting as one of their primary advisors. As a member of the leadership group, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for maintaining cross departmental relationships, establishing credibility with campus partners, and executing against the core strategic mission of the Provost Office through effective project management and influence based leadership, exercising a knowledge in organization and political intelligence.

Telework:

Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as a project manager and liaison between campus stakeholders at all levels of the organization on significant strategic, operational, and cultural agendas on behalf of the Office of the Provost.
  • Manage projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment, creating action plans, elevating to leadership as appropriate, ensuring timely completion, and consulting appropriate stakeholders at all levels of the institution when necessary.
  • Provide leadership to Provost team in execution of initiatives and day-to-day operations. In collaboration with other senior leaders responsible for developing and executing solutions-oriented approaches to Provostial priorities, functional strategic goals, and issues, and will make key organizational decisions on behalf of the Provost where appropriate.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years relevant experience, preferably in higher education, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in the use of office technology, including Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Experience in managing complex organizations and change management.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Interpersonal and political savvy to have credibility and build trust both internally and externally with many high-level constituents.

Salary:

Salary: $168,000 - $190,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
