The University of Maryland,Baltimore County (UMBC) Counseling Center is seeking a Associate Director(Clinical Services)to join a talented multidisciplinary Counseling Center and Health Center team committed to inclusion, respect, responsiveness, innovation, and quality. Reporting to the Director of Health and Counseling, the incumbent will serve in a key administrative role, overseeing clinical services (short-term individual therapy, group therapy, referral services) including evaluating and improving clinical services and overall mental health services system and balancing and determining staff case loads and supervising clinical record keeping.   They will have a role in assisting with budgeting, planning and implementing continuous quality improvement strategies, as well representing the Center in the University community and providing coverage for the Director when needed. The incumbent will be a member of the Center senior leadership and will serve on the division leadership team.

Specific duties include:   

  • Oversee Clinical Services
  • Provide training and supervision for doctoral students in psychology, paraprofessional staff, and student peer groups
  • Counsel Students
  • Outreach
  • Completes case related administrative tasks
  • Consult with faculty/staff
  • Supervise staff
  • Provide consultation for the UMBC community
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a masters or doctoral degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling. Must be an LCSW-C, LCPC or Licensed Psychologist or Maryland license eligible. Must have four years post license experience



Preferred Qualifications: 

Three years of experience in college student mental health

Experience with mental health services administration

Experience in referrals coordination.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
