The Associate Athletics Director for Development and Revenue Generation leads strategic fundraising, corporate partnership growth, and revenue-enhancing initiatives to support the department’s long-term priorities. This role oversees donor engagement, stewardship, and major gift cultivation while collaborating closely with campus and community partners. The position also drives the development of comprehensive revenue strategies, ensuring sustainable financial support for student-athlete success and program excellence.

| Responsibilities: |

Serves as a key member of the Athletics leadership team and acts as a major gift officer for the department, coordinating and attending donor visits, managing solicitation strategies, and setting and achieving annual gift goals.

Provides direct supervision to the athletic marketing, ticketing, and fan engagement/events staffs, ensuring cohesive planning and promotion of athletic events to students, alumni, faculty/staff, parents, and the broader community.

Leads the creation and execution of an exciting and engaging game-day atmosphere for all home events, working collaboratively across units to enhance the overall fan experience.

Manages a comprehensive major gift portfolio, overseeing annual and major gift fundraising campaigns, team-specific initiatives, and booster hospitality efforts at basketball games and other select events.

Monitors all fundraising and revenue-generation activities, regularly reviewing and reporting results against established annual goals to inform strategy and decision-making.

Coordinates annual fund appeals and alumni/parent engagement campaigns in partnership with the Assistant Director of Athletics Annual Giving, ensuring consistent outreach and messaging across constituencies.

Plans and executes fundraising and engagement events both on and off campus, including team fundraising activities, donor gatherings, road events for the department, and the annual athletics golf outing.

Serves as an executive leader of the Retriever Club and as a member of the university’s Major Gifts team, overseeing portfolio assignments, tracking progress, and implementing engagement strategies to expand membership and enhance donor participation.

Leads the planning and implementation of events for former student-athletes, donors, and alumni, strengthening long-term relationships with individuals connected to UMBC Athletics.

Collaborates with academic leadership when donors express interest in supporting academic or broader institutional initiatives, ensuring alignment with university priorities.

Completes additional administrative tasks and departmental projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics, including providing sport supervision responsibilities for at least one varsity sport.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five (5) years of experience within sport administration, institutional fundraising, corporate or sales management
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, fellow employees, alumni and the public
- Must possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the State of Maryland and have an acceptable driving record as determined by the University's auto insurance carrier

| Salary: |
Salary: $90,119 to $101,624 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
