Responsibilities:

This position works as part of Student Conduct and Community Standards to assist in managing all aspects of the student conduct process. The person in this position will serve as a conduct officer for cases that do not involve potential loss of housing, suspension or dismissal from the University and is responsible for reviewing conduct related documentation of a confidential and sensitive nature, and ensuring appropriate case management, conduct workflow and Federal reporting.

The incumbent will serve as the Charging Party during hearings as needed and will assist with restorative practices implementation, coordination, and training. The person in this position will also assist with educational outreach efforts including orientation and recruiting, training, and supervising the Behavioral Ambassadors for Restorative Communities (BARCS). Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processes lower-level student misconduct cases, including reviewing complaints, drafting Charge Letters, meeting with students, and drafting resolution letters.
  • Serves as the Charging Party for cases during formal Board hearings.
  • Manage the planning, training, and deployment efforts for the recruitment and coordination of the Behavioral Ambassadors for Restorative Communities (BARCS).
  • Provides assistance to the educational outreach component of Student Conduct and Community Standards; assists in conducting educational programs and trainings for stakeholders upon request; assists with the development of printed and Web-based publications.
  • Act as a database super user for the Advocate conduct database, and oversee administrative aspects of the database, including letter templates and updating sanction and condition descriptions in Advocate.
  • Provide support, consultation, and training for Residential Life Community Directors.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of full-time progressively responsible experience in student affairs (college or university conduct, housing, or residential education), or a non-profit setting, or similarly applicable experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience working with Advocate by Symplicity conduct database or a similar conduct database.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the philosophy of restorative practices and its utility in educational settings.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to multicultural issues, and proven ability to sustain collaborative and culturally inclusive relationships.
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Education, Business Administration, Leadership Studies, Psychology, Africana Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Social Work, Policy, Conflict Resolution, Restorative Practices/Justice, Political Science, or Law or a related field.

Salary:

Hourly Salary Range: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
