The Community and Culture Unit is responsible for building a culture of inclusive excellence and social justice at UMBC through dynamic programming, dialogue, and resource development.

Position Overview: |
Within the Community and Culture unit, the Center for Social Justice Dialogue Coordinator will provide leadership and support for the Center's mission to transform education and foster inclusive excellence through dialogue. The
coordinator will engage with students, faculty, and staff to promote critical self-reflection, cultural storytelling, generous listening, and loving accountability, empowering the UMBC community to bridge differences and build a more just and
compassionate campus.

Responsibilities: |
The Coordinator, reporting directly to the Co-Director of the Center for Social Justice Dialogue, supports Center functions by providing leadership in the following areas: Student Program Development ● Develop, implement, and assess curricular and co-curricular student engagement opportunities, such as the “Social Justice Dialogues course,” the “IDEAL internship”, and “Interact”, which focus on dialogue skills and social justice concepts. Student Staff Supervision ● Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse group of student interns and peer facilitators, ensuring alignment with the Center’s mission and values. Dialogue Facilitation and Training ● Serve as a lead facilitator on the Center’s facilitation team and co-facilitate dialogue sessions for students, faculty, and staff, creating spaces for authentic engagement and relationship-building across difference. Program Management ● Support the planning and execution of all Center initiatives, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferably in social work, education, sociology, international relations, conflict management, etc. Experience Required: ● One year of related experience (graduate assistantships and some undergraduate appointments may be included as part of the years of experience) in co-curricular programming, dialogue programming or facilitation, support services, and advocacy for marginalized individuals and communities that prioritize and/or |

Salary: $56,069 - $63,226 depending on qualifications and experience. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. |
