Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, this position is responsible for managing the functions of the UMBC travel system, working fund and petty cash.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Accountant I/Travel Coordinator as well as the Working Fund custodian.
  • Provide oversight of travel reimbursements and entering new vendors into the vendor system related to travel. 
  • Ensure proper banking services and reconciliation of the Working Fund and Petty Cash accounts. 
  • Run the daily pay cycle for Accounts Payable.
  • Manage payment request issues with the State of Maryland
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders relating to financial processes on campus.
  • Provide campus training related to Business Services policies and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in related field
  • Education involving Administration/Management or Accounting
  • Experience in Accounts Payable, Cash Management or Analysis
