Position Overview: |
The Academic Program Assistant is responsible for conducting degree certification and academic support geared to promoting graduate students' progression from matriculation to graduation. This includes degree audits and administrative duties for our Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Professional Studies population.

Responsibilities: |
Under supervision of the Progressions and Academic Services Director, the incumbent will perform activities essential to the academic and graduation success of our students. Specific Responsibilities include:
- Performing initial and final degree audits for May, August, and December graduation terms. This includes communication with Graduate department staff, i.e., Graduate Program Coordinators, regarding student issues that may impact graduation completion.
- Responding daily to inquiries regarding grades, degree conferrals, diplomas, and reinstatement.
- Assisting with the coordination of the annual PhD Candidacy Reception and the commencement ceremonies held in May and December.
- Linking student documents to their records maintained in PeopleSoft.
- Accessing DocuSign forms and ensuring that paperwork is received by the required deadlines.
This position collaborates as necessary with other areas of the Graduate School, such as Admissions and the university at large, including the Registrar's Office, academic departments, and Student Business Services.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in various positions that require data management skills. At least three years performed within a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/systems and understand policy and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact and respond professionally with diverse audiences; possess strong organizational skills and attention to details and deadlines in the performance of duties, including graduation audits and resolving issues in the progression of students reaching graduation.
- Experience working with large databases and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft (SA) and Use of imaging software helpful, but not required.

Salary: |
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
