Position Overview:

The Research Assistant will join a collaborative team in the department of Psychology. This individual will be responsible for managing ongoing large-scale studies, including the SAMHSA-funded MHAT-EP and CHiRP study, EIP study, and other projects related to applied work in the domain of clinical high-risk for psychosis.

Responsibilities include participant recruitment, conducting clinical interviews and administering standardized assessments, managing databases, reporting to funding bodies, and participating in other research-related activities in coordination with the program PI, Dr. Pamela Rakhshan Rouhakhtar.

Responsibilities:

The candidate's responsibilities include:

Recruit participants for ongoing studies: In coordination with supervisors, develop and implement recruitment strategies, screen potential participants for eligibility, and schedule participants for study sessions.

Conduct clinical interviews and administer standardized assessments: Perform clinical interviews and assessments using instruments such as SIPS, SCID-5, and K-SADS, ensuring accurate and ethical data collection. 

Manage research databases and data entry: Maintain and update research databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Utilize data management software such as REDCap and SPSS to input and analyze data.

Report to funding bodies and assist with grant-related documentation: Prepare and submit reports, including data summaries and progress updates, to funding agencies. Assist with the preparation of grant applications and renewals.

Collaborate with the research team and participate in lab meetings: Work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other team members to coordinate research activities, share findings, and contribute to discussions in lab meetings.

Contribute to publication and presentation efforts: Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, posters, and presentations for conferences and peer-reviewed journals, ensuring the dissemination of research findings; and

Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Psychology or related field.
  • One year of experience as a research assistant

Note: A Master's degree in Psychology or related field or 15 graduate credits in a master's program may be substituted for the one year of required experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  •  SIPS certification preferred
Background Screening Statement:  A background check will be required.
