Position Overview: |
Provide support to faculty/staff/students/visitors in relation to academic scheduling, faculty reviews, annual reports, and human resources.

Responsibilities: |
- Input schedule of classes for winter, spring, summer, and fall. Troubleshoot scheduling issues.
- Track promotion and tenure events for faculty. Prepare and compile data for department reports.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Oversee hiring process of faculty, staff, postdocs, and lab technicians.
- Provide onboarding information for new hires.
- Provide Administrative Assistance to faculty.
- Organize and attend faculty meetings.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree
- One year experience in administrative staff work.

Highly proficient in various software packages, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, Webex/Zoom, email, and Google calendar.

Excellent organizational skills and able to establish and meet deadlines.

Ability to clearly communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to interact effectively with faculty/staff/students/visitors in a courteous manner.

Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Experience with Peoplesoft and Blackboard.

Salary: |
Pay Range 9 (minimum: $46,736 maximum: $77,077) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
