Position Overview: |
This role will assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of UMBC's Classification and Compensation Programs.

Telework |
A hybrid work schedule (2 days telework, 3 in the office) may be available after training. |
Responsibilities: |
- Conducts initial review, job analysis, and job evaluation of new, vacant, and filled position change requests including reclassifications, equity adjustments, in-grade adjustments, acting capacity pay requests, and salary range updates and confirmations.
- Develops written reports of findings for standard roles and-determines classification and compensation based upon research conducted and the best available balance of evidence.
- Makes recommendations regarding the development and updating of salary structures, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, and organizational structures as needed
- Conducts costing
- Completes salary data requests
- Reviews and approves standard studies independently

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five years of general Human Resources experience, at least two related to compensation/classification
- Advanced experience in Excel with proven ability to analyze complex data sets
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
- Strong interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of current compensation practices and trends
- Strong customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications: |
- One year of experience with the State of MD Classification and Compensation policies
- One year of experience with the compilation and assessment of salary data
- Strong customer service skills interacting with senior leadership
- Experience in creative problem solving related to complex classification/compensation requests

Salary: |
Salary: $79,000 - $84,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
