Position Overview: |
This position will be a member of the College’s Shared Services Center, within the Pre-Award Team. This position, reporting to the Director of the Center, will be primarily responsible for administrative and budget support on grant proposal submissions. The position will work with faculty to create, collect, review, upload, and transmit documents necessary for routing proposal requests for new research funding. This includes working with various departments across campus, departments at collaborating universities outside of UMBC, external contractors, and program sponsors at federal, state and private agencies.

Responsibilities: |
- Manage Pre-Award Team activities including but not limited to guiding the team to work with the PI and to carefully monitor routing process and proposal submission for all proposals. Responsible for team's deadlines and accuracy of their work. Assess staff knowledge, prepare performance evaluations, and provide training to staff as needed to ensure their knowledge is up to requirements and/or suggest external trainings.
- Assisting with the proposal development and routing process in the college’s sponsored research unit within shared services. Tasks include: RFP review, Budget Development, PI interface, Kuali routing after reviewed by sponsored research lead or Sr. Specialist of sponsored research, and RT pre-award queue management.
- Provide full-service administrative support for faculty who are submitting proposals for grant funding. Liaison on behalf of faculty with UMBC departments, and individuals outside of UMBC necessary for a successful submission.
- Recommend processes and procedures for the center and work with the team and director to implement them. Prepare Ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by Director and leadership
- Back up support for the post award team including reconciliation and reporting on research related accounts and activities within the College and other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in grant administration, budgeting, financial analysis, reconciliation, financial reporting, forecasting, and other related accounting/finance/analytical responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Grants experience, supervisor experience, Kuali experience.

Salary: |
Salary: $78,000 - $84,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
