UMBC’s Facilities Management (FM) department strives to provide excellence in planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of UMBC’s facilities, grounds and utilities. Our staff maintains 70 university buildings on 512 acres of grounds and provides service to nearly 3.7 million gross square feet of space.

Position Overview: |
Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates, oversees and manages the campus work control center, including oversight of all work orders and activities related to the efficient day-to-day operation of the work control center.

Responsibilities: |
- Supervise two full-time Work Controllers
- Act as primary customer service representative in Facilities Management Work Control Center.
- Supervise and train subordinate personnel in the operation of the automated work control system.
- Communicate with shop supervisors to determine status of work orders, monitor progress, and update automated work management system.
- Compile reports as requested.
- Run automated processes to produce billing reports and generate transactional data to initiate fund transfer for reimbursable work orders.
- Maintain key control database for entire campus; review and approve campus customer key requests; distribute keys to campus customers; maintain approval forms and distribute keys to FM contractors. Assist with management of housekeeping, pest management, elevator, uniforms, walk off mats, and radios contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of office experience, preferably in the maintenance field.
- Must have: administrative and work prioritization experience; strong interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills; strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience supervising a diverse team in an office environment amid changing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of Assetworks systems, or other automated work control systems.
|

Salary: |
Salary: $57,000 - $64,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
