Position Overview: |
The Grant Specialist is a member of the College of Engineering and Information Technology's Shared Services Center and will support the Post-Award Sponsored Research Team. The position will be responsible for overseeing, managing, reporting and analyzing a portfolio of grants and other faculty accounts. The position provides direct support for a range of departments within COEIT for all financial and fiscal matters related to sponsored and non-sponsored activities.

Responsibilities: |
- Provide full-service grant support for faculty who have been awarded grant funding from external and internal agencies. Liaison on behalf of faculty with UMBC departments and/or individuals outside of UMBC necessary for successful administration of the project. Works closely with the SSC Pre-award team to administer awarded funds.
- Support for reconciliation and reporting on research-related accounts and activities within the College; including sponsored, Self-Support, foundation, and all other research accounts.
- Monthly account reconciliations, distribution of pay, journal entries, payroll transfers, budget revision requests, sub-award management, no-cost extension requests, report generation for PIs, forecasting/projections, project financial status reviews with PIs per the frequency they have requested.
- Assist in supporting the campus’ effort report certification process within the college.
- RT management and transaction approvals for all research accounts.
- Ad hoc analysis as requested by leadership and/or PIs

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in Excel
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience preferably in budgeting, financial analysis, reconciliation, financial reporting, forecasting, and other related accounting/finance/analytical responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience in sponsored research post-award grant management within a higher education, particularly in areas such as budget and expenditure management, compliance, and preparation of financial reports in accordance with institutional policies and sponsor guidelines.
|

Salary: |
Salary: $62,000 - $69,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
