Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the Academic Program Specialist is expected to support the goals of the Registrar’s Office and Enrollment Management and to provide customer service and maintain records in accordance with standard business processes.
Responsible for using and maintaining complex relational databases and systems including PeopleSoft Student Administration.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides customer support for and assists with overseeing the production of the Undergraduate Catalog.
  • Creates new courses and makes course changes in PeopleSoft course catalog, builds course prerequisites and assists with data maintenance related to courses, programs and academic departments in PeopleSoft, Acalog, and Curriculog.
  • Assists in projects to maintain entities and their organization in PeopleSoft.
  • Completes requests for PeopleSoft SA Access in accordance with policy. Participates in annual campus-wide SA access audit.
  • Provides group and individual training on Acalog and Curriculog for faculty and staff.
  • Provides frontline phone and front counter coverage for the Registrar’s Office.
  • Participates in testing for quarterly system upgrades and updates to process documentation
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • One year of experience in administrative staff work

Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience

  • Higher Education experience

Salary:

Pay Range N09 (minimum: 48,000 ; maximum: 61,906) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
