Provide ongoing follow up, evaluation and treatment as needed. Facilitation of higher level of care referral of Counseling Center clients and Health Services patients as needed and appropriate. Available for emergency consultations for psychiatric problems, conditions and crisis intervention. Provide consultation to UMBC University Health Services and Counseling Center staff. Provide professional development/training to Health Services and Counseling Center Staff. Required Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate Maryland Licensure by the time of Appointment Cultural competence and clinical sophistication in delivering mental health care to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. A strong understanding of the full range of developmental and mental health challenges affecting young adults. Interpersonal skills and an ability to form a therapeutic alliance with college-age and graduate student populations. Demonstrated competence in crisis intervention, assessing need for psychiatric hospitalization, handling psychiatric emergencies, and supervising referral for inpatient care. Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other health and mental health clinicians in providing team-based care to and in conducting assessments and requested evaluations. Demonstrated competence in use of best practices for diagnostic evaluation and psychopharmacological treatment. Provide care in an interpersonally and culturally sensitive manner.
