Position Overview:

Campus Life at UMBC is seeking an Assistant Director responsible for advising the Student Government Association (SGA) and working closely to ensure the budgeting and allocation process for all student organizations is properly managed in partnership with the SGA.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available. 

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Student Government advising, attending meetings, setting one-on-ones and managing project timelines.

  • Supervision and support for full-time staff and serving on the Leadership Team for Campus Life.

  • Project management for both Campus Life department and SGA.
  • Manage budget and provide appropriate assessment and evaluation for major initiatives.

  • Responsible for interpreting institutional policies, procedures, mission and philosophy in their daily work with students and their concerns.

  • Other Duties as Assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years of Campus/Student Life experience
  • Full time experience or direct work in student organization advising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or a related field
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with campus Student Government Association work
  • Understanding of college student development
  • Experience supervising full-time staff
