Position Overview: |
The Associate Provost for Financial Management serves as an advisor to the Provost and provides executive support for academic budget planning, strategic planning and project management for the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities: |
Specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborate on planning with Vice Presidents, Vice Provosts, Deans, Department Chairs, Directors and administrative staff for academic programs, outcomes assessment and institutional research and academic services.
- Direct all budgetary and financial planning for the Office of the Provost, including all expense management, budgeting, project/special initiative funding and compliance in conjunction with appropriate financial policies.
- Develop, review and monitor annual budgets and planning documents for the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.
- Manage and supervise the shared services center for Academic Affairs Units reporting to the Provost.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the Office of the Provost, including staff oversight, recruitment and retention, performance management, development, engagement and employee relations.
- Prepare analysis and projections in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research, with particular emphasis on the integration of Planning and Budgeting, and prepare financial and budget analysis for institutional priorities.
- Review/approve timesheets, payroll reports, including Statement of Charges, and Gross Pay.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Master's Degree, preferably in Business, Accounting or a related field
- Five years of related experience managing multiple business functions
- Substantial knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation and financial reporting
- Experience analyzing/preparing recommendations for senior leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team
- Strong supervisory and staff development skills

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience in higher education
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Administration software
|
