Position Overview:

The Facilities Coordinator will assist with all aspects of the Retriever Activities Center and assist in the operation of the Retrievers Athletics program.

Responsibilities:

The Facilities Coordinator will assist with all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the Retriever Activities Center (RAC) and to assist in the operation of the Retriever Athletics program.

Specific duties include:

  • Hiring, scheduling and supervising recreation student staff
  • Providing customer service to students, staff and community members
  • Recreation scheduling, planning and documenting work
  • Assist coordinating work with facilities and campus police in following safety code and procedures
  • Assist managing the entire RAC including but not limited to recreation courts, fitness studio, weight room, aquatics facility, CEIA facility, Retriever Soccer Park, UMBC Stadium, UMBC Baseball & Softball Fields (as assigned)
  • Processing memberships
  • Updating the recreation website
  • Opening and closing the building based on varying schedules
  • Serving as the assistant scheduling coordinator for 25Live
  • Assisting with locker rentals
  • Serve as the Equipment Manager for the UMBC Men's / Women's Swimming & Diving Program (Varsity)
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in event coordination, facilities operations and management or related area. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in large athletic facilities including an aquatics area, weight room, indoor track, fitness studio is preferred.
  • Three years of related experience preferred. 
  • CPR, AED, First Aid, Pool Operator Certificates preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
