The project serves the following target Baltimore County high schools: Chesapeake HS, Overlea HS, Parkville HS and Kenwood HS.

Responsibilities: |
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County Upward Bound Program is seeking a qualified Residential Director/General Associate to facilitate operations and oversight of the six (6) week summer academic enrichment residential component. The position requires residing in the dormitory on campus amongst program participants and tutor/counselor staff. Must be available to work during the residential component which includes overnight duty. The program operates from June 23 – July 25, 2025 with mandatory training occurring June 16 – 18, 2025.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Bachelor’s Degree required in education, counseling, psychology, social work or a reasonably related field. 2. Minimum one year experience as a Resident Director 3. Minimum one year experience working with low-income, first-generation or disadvantaged students. 4. Experience and/or training in student assessment, career development, academic advisement and guidance, and educational planning and advisement. 5. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, community organizations, school personnel and members of the community. 6. Good written and oral communications skills with preference given to individuals who are fluent in languages other than English. 7. Experience in facilitating workshops for students, parents and community members. 8. Preference will be given to those candidates whose experience and/or background are similar to the target population. Note: The program operates from June 23 – July 25, 2025 with mandatory training occurring June 16 – 18, 2025. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Master's degree preferred in education, counseling, psychology, social work or a reasonably related field. |
