The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Retriever Integrated Health is seeking a temporary, Part-time C1 Contractual Nurse Practitioner for late August to late November 2025.

The Nurse Practitioner, a key member of Retriever Integrated Health Services within the Division of Student Affairs, plays an essential role in advancing the mission to promote the health, well-being, and safety of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) campus community. This position provides high-quality, evidence-based primary care to UMBC’s approximately 14,000 students, as well as to faculty and staff.

In addition to delivering direct patient care, the Nurse Practitioner actively contributes to health education, health promotion initiatives, and continuous quality improvement efforts designed to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of campus health services.
Responsibilities:

Duties Include:

  • Independently provide primary care in the college health setting to UMBC students, faculty and staff, including gynecology, sports medicine, routine ambulatory and urgent care, within the defined scope of practice
  • Prescribes medications in accordance with Maryland law
  • Assesses and identifies problem areas through detailed history, physical exam and appropriate diagnostic tests, including performing some lab tests, and determines appropriate treatment
  • Facilitates access to care and referrals as needed, assisting in the development of campus-wide health initiatives.
  • Participates in health education, health promotion programs and quality improvement activities.
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education: MSN 

Licensure/ Certification Required:

Certified Registered Family, Adult, or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Current BLS/AED for health care providers

Licensed RN in Maryland, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Two years in college health
  • Ambulatory care or urgent care, gynecological experience.
  • Procedural experience such as IUD/LARC insertion, wound repair, etc.
Background Screening Statement:

A background check will be required.

Salary:

Starting salary is $55 per hour.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm. There is no after-hours or weekend call responsibility. 

Part-Time - Hours are limited to less than 20 hours/week
