Responsibilities:

The incumbent will serve as the University Police Accreditation Coordinator for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and also serve as the Clery Compliance Coordinator for the Jeanne Clery Act.  Specific duties include:

  • Manage the Department's entire CALEA accreditation process;
  • Collect necessary data and documentation providing proofs for accreditation;
  • Aid in the development/revision of agency policies, practices, and standard operating procedures;
  • Communicate necessary CALEA requirements to administrative personnel;
  • Meet federal requirements relating to documentation and reporting of the Jeanne Clery Act;
  • Communicate necessary Clery Act requirements to administrative personnel as well as other campus partners;
  • Ensure requirements of CLERY Act are consistently followed and documented;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and two years experience as a project coordinator, or in law enforcement planning
  • Ability to manage and maintain the process of CALEA accreditation
  • CALEA Accreditation Manager certification and CLERY Compliance Coordinator certification, or the ability to obtain both certifications within twelve (12) months of employment
  • Proficient computer skills and understanding of computer databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and present clear and concise polices & procedures
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • General knowledge of CALEA principles, practices, and the accreditation process.
  • General knowledge of Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Act.
  • General knowledge of Records Management. 
  • Understanding of computer tracking systems such as "Power DMS".
