The Shriver Center
Since 1987, The Shriver Center at UMBC has partnered with the Governor’s Office of Maryland to coordinate the Governor’s Summer Internship Program (GSIP). Over the years, this initiative has expanded into a portfolio of statewide programs—collectively known as the Maryland Public Service Scholars (MPSS) programs—designed to prepare college students across the state for careers in social impact leadership. These programs equip the next generation of Maryland’s public and nonprofit changemakers with the skills, experiences, and networks needed to drive meaningful community impact.

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of MPSS programs. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality programming and professional development experiences for student Fellows, managing program administration and evaluation, and leading recruitment and onboarding efforts.
