University Communications and Marketing
The Marketing Department at UMBC carries out functions related to strategic enrollment marketing, brand awareness, digital strategy, and creative services. UMBC Marketing works in partnership with undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as departments across campus to promote the UMBC experience and attract students.

Position Overview: |
The Photographer will work closely with University Communications and Marketing members on various photography projects, including (but not limited to) marketing and recruitment projects, campus events, performances, magazine photos, and storytelling and campus life images. The position will play a critical role in supporting upcoming high-profile departmental initiatives, including UMBC’s strategic plan, development campaign, and increased digital and social media opportunities. In addition, the position will play an important part in the implementation and maintenance of a digital asset management system. Specific duties include coordinating shoots, performing hands-on photography work, edits and color corrections, delivering images promptly, communicating efficiently with clients, and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: |
- Education Required: A B.A./B.F.A. preferably in photography, fine arts, graphic design, web design or related subject is required
- Experience Required: minimum of 2 years of experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Suite, and MS Office is required.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Education Preferred: M.A./M.F.A. a plus
- Experience Preferred: 3-5 years of experience
- Licensure/ Certification Preferred: Photography certifications
|

Salary: |
Salary: $60,500 - $68,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
