The Shriver Center supports the vision and mission of UMBC by offering a variety of programs that primarily emphasize community engagement and leadership development.  Programs include, but are not limited to, Service-Learning and Community Engagement, Shriver Peaceworker Fellows Program, the Choice Program at UMBC, and Public Service Scholars Programs.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will assume primary responsibility for capacity and program development working in collaboration with Shriver Center staff and other stakeholders to identify needs for future program enhancements and ideas for new programs.  Specific duties include: resource development; researching and identifying potential funding opportunities; building relationships with potential funders in collaboration with staff from The Shriver Center and other relevant UMBC offices; working with academic and service units across UMBC to understand institutional strengths and capabilities to continually identify ways of bridging campus and community; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree and three years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • At least seven years experience in higher education
  • Specific experience in areas such as fundraising, program development community engagement
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
