The Hilltop Institute 

The Hilltop Institute conducts research and policy analysis to support health care financing and delivery system reform in Maryland and other states. With access to an extensive onsite data repository that includes Medicaid and Medicare administrative data, hospital discharge data, nursing home assessment data, and all-payer claims data, Hilltop conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform health care payment, program design, monitoring, and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

The Hilltop Institute, Aging & Disability Studies team, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented policy/fiscal analyst (General Associate) for a full-time  hourly position to assist with the review of cost data submitted by Medicaid providers.

  • Manually review cost data on spreadsheets submitted by Medicaid providers
  • Draft feedback for providers to improve data accuracy
  • Track reviews and categories of feedback provided
  • Engage in technical assistance activities to enhance data quality
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in technical assistance or support roles
  • Analytical skills and experience with large data sets 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Salary:

Hourly Salary Range: Minimum: $30 to Maximum: $40, commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Expected 40 hours per week

Type: Temporary, Contingent I
Additional Information: This is a temporary position. Initial contract is for six months with the possibility of renewal.
