The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is a non-credit certificate program preparing completers to sit for the National Registry Exams in Sonography. 

Position Overview:

The Sonography Recruitment, Enrollment, and Success Coordination Manager is responsible for supporting and managing the recruitment, enrollment, and student success efforts for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (DMSP) at UMBC. This role is critical to attracting, enrolling, and supporting students through their academic journey in sonography, ensuring they thrive throughout their studies and succeed in their careers.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Lead all recruitment and communication efforts, including developing and implementing strategies to attract a diverse pool of prospective students.
  • Participate in college fairs, open houses, and community events to promote the university’s offerings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate and execute targeted outreach campaigns to specific student demographics.
  • Respond to prospective students' inquiries via email, phone, and in-person consultations, offering guidance on programs, admissions, and requirements.
  • Organize and lead information sessions for prospective students to familiarize them with DMSP, program requirements, campus resources, and advise students on program expectations.
  • Lead marketing and communications efforts, including the development of recruitment materials and social media campaigns.

Enrollment:

  • Guide prospective students through the application and admission process, ensuring they understand necessary steps and deadlines.
  • Create documentation and materials to support the unique admission process used by DMSP.
  • Review applications and assess eligibility for admission.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to conduct interviews and select cohorts.
  • Assist students in navigating financial aid, scholarship, and housing applications to ensure a smooth enrollment experience.
  • Organize and lead orientation sessions for new and prospective students to familiarize them with DMSP, program requirements, campus resources, and advise students on program expectations.

Student Success:

  • Provide ongoing support to enrolled students to enhance their academic, social, and extracurricular experiences.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and resources that promote student retention and success.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and campus-level support services, ensuring students have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed.
  • Track, analyze, and report on student outcomes and retention data, offering recommendations for continuous improvement in student success programs.
  • Serve as a mentor or advisor to students, offering guidance on academic and personal matters, and connecting them to relevant resources.

Administrative:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on prospective, enrolled, and current students in the university’s enrollment management system.
  • Manage all aspects of the application process, including creating/administering application materials, advising prospective applicants on DMSP, reviewing transcripts, maintaining accurate documentation, and coordinating communications with applicants.
  • Manage the interview process, including scheduling applicants, administering logistics, and coordinating scoring methods and documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director, including assisting with sonography program self-study for re-accreditation.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations on recruitment, enrollment, and retention metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and improve overall recruitment, enrollment, and student success strategies.
  • Support the DMSP team with operational issues such as equipment repair, supply purchases, and other financial needs.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of professional experience in at least one of the following fields: higher education student recruitment, student advising, student success, or sonography.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of technology to interface with UMBC’s platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior customer service and organizational skills to present oneself professionally at all times.

  • Relationship-building: Form strong, supportive relationships with prospective students, current students, faculty, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills: Deadline-focused, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability: Respond to students' individual needs and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Tech-savviness: Familiarity with student management systems, databases, or CRM tools to track prospective and enrolled students.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years of experience with college recruitment, coordination, advising, or working directly with students.
  • Experience in student recruitment or enrollment, including working in admissions, student services, or recruitment within a higher education setting.
  • Experience in student success or retention, particularly in student affairs or student support services.
  • Experience in healthcare or allied health programs, especially diagnostic medical sonography.
  • Event planning or coordination experience.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Sonography credential

Salary:

Salary: $83,000 - $93,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
