Specific duties and responsibilities include: Enforcement of local, state and federal laws Patrol academic and residential areas on foot, bicycle and Segway Provide safety escorts Prepare reports and conduct investigations Traffic enforcement Testify in court Other duties as assigned Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Successful completion of a MPCTC Minimum Standard Entrance Level Police Course (that includes firearms certification). Current police certification as a Maryland police officer (if certified in another state, must take compliance course and field training upon hire) Valid Class C driver's license Ability to work overtime and shift work is required Preferred Qualifications: Some college preferred Background Screening Statement: A background check will be required. Salary increases upon completion of probation and UPO III eligibility. Police officers are provided uniforms in addition to a clothing and equipment allowance.
